It’s a busy time of year for Out There Music Bristol right now, as we gear up for an eventful festive period. It all starts when the North Bristol Choir will be participating in BBC Radio Bristol’s ‘Clueless’ programme on Sunday 4th December which we are all looking forward to.
Following on from that, the South Bristol Choir and Chamber Choir will be performing at the Southbank on Dean Lane in Bedminster on Sunday 11th December at 8pm, for our annual Christmas show. It promises to be a great evening with songs such as Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen (although we’re following the Jeff Buckley version), Purple Rain by Prince, When We Were Young by Adele, The Lamb by Tavener, and lots of traditional Christmas favourites including the chance for some audience participation!
And very soon after Christmas, at the Elmgrove Centre on Saturday 14th January at 8pm, we have our Winter Show with the North Bristol Choir and Orchestra, where as well as the songs just mentioned above by Adele, Prince and Leonard Cohen, there will also be the chance to hear Fly Me To The Moon, I Say A Little Prayer and music by Mozart, Corelli and Strauss. In addition to that we’re delighted to welcome our special guests the Velvetones so it will be a wonderful evening of live music.
Both shows will be very relaxed events and although the musical quality will of course be high (!) the audiences at both venues will be seated at round tables, cabaret style with drinks available.
If you want to come along, you can buy tickets for either event on the door on the night of the show. Just check our concert page for exact details of times and dates.
And remember, we’re always looking to recruit new members so if you want to get involved in any of the groups, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or just come along to one of our rehearsals. To see where and when each group rehearses just click here.Leave a reply →
